It was written under pressure when The Beatles needed a new single for the Christmas market. John wrote most of the lyric and basic guitar break. coming up with a riff that he derived from 'I Feel Fine'. Paul helped with the verses and his bass riff, something like Roy Orbison's 'Oh Pretty Woman'.
