Highs and Lows in EPL GameWeek 7

League Cup actions midweek saw most of the top teams making it into the next round although Liverpool made it through penalties only after 1-1 aet against Carlisle. Anthony Martial kept up his goal scoring form for Utd with a last minute goal against Ispwich (3-0).

Mourinho goads Wenger
After Costa got a 3-match ban for last week's misbehaviour and Gabriel's re card being rescinded but banned for a match for his behaviour while leaving the field, Mourinho launched a scathing criticism of 'you know who' during a news conference. He called that someone 'a king who is not under pressure'. He 'can speak about referees, push people in the technical areas, can cry in the morning and afternoon, nothing happens. Cannot achieve, keep his job, can still be the king. It is a privilege.' 'The rule book says that some managers can speak about referees before and after the game, others cannot.' I am in the ones that are punished if they do.  I will stick to that rule book.'
When asked who he is referring to he answered: You know. If I answer, I will be suspended.

What a wham!! The feud continues. Can't wait to hear Wenger's retort.

Chelsea came from behind to draw; Arsenal won big after earlier losses; Man City thrashed 4-1 by Spurs and Utd went to top for the first time in more than 2 years after seeing off Sunderland.

Memphis Depay scoring his first Premiership goal for Utd against Sunderland at Old Trafford. Rooney scored after 999 minutes, ending his Premier league drought.

Anthony Martial named Man of the Match

Second consecutive loss for Pelligrini's team, Harry Kane scored first Premiership goal for the season in 4-1 shock thrashing of league leader, Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho in deep contemplation after coming from 0-2 down to draw 2-2 with troubled Newcastle Utd. He rated Chelsea's performance in the first half to be -1 out of 10. He wished he could replace 6 of his players then.
Alexis Sanchez scored a hattrick in Arsenal's 5-2 win over previously undefeated Leicester

Highs and Lows GameWeek 6

Week after the first midweek match in the CL where only Chelsea beat minnows Maccabi Tel-aviv
4-0, while Arsenal (1-2 Dinamo Zagreb) Man City (1-2 Juventus) and Man Utd (1-2 PSV Einhoven) lost.

The serial provocateur, Diego Costa, went unpunished again and Gabriel fell into the trap as Arsenal lost 0-2 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Arsene Wenger wants the incident be investigated by the FA, retrospectively. Jose Mourinho hailed Costa as the 'man of the match'!! To put salt into wounds, he said that 'Wenger/Arsenal always moan when I beat him'. He is instilling the siege mentality into his side to win matches and will try all means to get the season going.

Chelsea v Arsenal - Premier League

It started off with Costa slapping Laurent Koscielny three times in a tussle, unnoticed by the referee. Gabriel waded in and when all seemed to settle, he flicked a leg at Costa in the centre circle. Straight red! Costa became the victim.

Man City's immaculate start to season was scarred by West Ham 2-1, a second consecutive defeat for the Citizens after the CL loss. West Ham had the reputation this season of shocking the top teams like Arsenal and Liverpool at their home grounds. Those were the first league goals conceded by the Citizens this season.

Anthony Martial

Once again, for the second match running, 19-year old Anthony Martial showed his great potential by scoring two goals to break the Saints' hearts at St Mary's. For the time being, all the critics were left eating humble pies. Utd won 3-2 after another stirring performance by David de Gea in goal.

Highs and Lows of EPL GameWeek 5

Anthony Martial, the supposedly paid-over-the-top striker scored the brilliant third goal after a mazy run in the Liverpool penalty area in his debut for Man Utd. The Red Devils hammered the Reds 3-1.

Everton v Chelsea - Premier League

The day couldn't be worse for Jose Mourinho......it started off with the Everton fans mocking Chelsea with 'Money can't buy you Stones' sung like the song 'Can't buy me Love' by The Beatles, then losing badly and finally engaged in a foul language tirade with Roberto Martinez. A sour loser who is feeling the Blues....... are in the relegation area rather than the top their poorest start of the season since 1987.
