It has the best sexual appetite among the big cats. The strongest lion commands a bevy of lionesses and like to have them around him. These lioneses are his show pieces and they handled all his work. You can always see them with the lady teachers, trying to charm them with his presumed strength or charisma. In Hokkien, they are decribed as being 'chee hong' or loosely translated as "p**** lover'. Usually they are school leaders.
The nearest equivalent in the female version is the tigress.
