Man Utd in April 2017

As the season is running towards its finale, the Red Devils are still in two positions to qualify for the Champions League, either through a fourth placing or win the Europa League. The latter seemed to be an easier choice. This will be the defining month for Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils.

It was games like these which defined Man Utd's performance this season. Once again they could not do better than to draw at home to a 'lesser' team, this time it was WBA which frustrated them. Got the feeling that they will not finish higher than 4th as Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Man City are above them this moment.

Man Utd 0 WBA 0

Another frustrating home match for the Red Devils ending in a draw. Jose Mourinho must be wondering when his strike force will STRIKE!!! They needed a 94th minute penalty by Ibrahimovic to salvage this draw against Everton.

Man Utd 1   Everton 1

This is the Red Devils' 21st league matches without defeat. The downer is that half of them were draws. As expected a poor David Moyes Sunderland who looked doom for relegation was easily defeated by goals from Ibrahimovic. Mhktaryan and Rashford at Stadium of Light

Europa League Q-final
Jose Mourinho moaned about the 'sloppy attacks' which resulted in a 1-1 draw with Anderlecht in Belgium. As usual, the Red Devils dominated but could not make it count. A late equaliser by Anderlecht will make the second leg a tougher affair.

Anderlecht 1  Man Utd 1

Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils gained their revenge by comprehensively beating Chelsea at Old Trafford, 2-0. It was such a complete domination that the Blues registered zero shot on goal for the entire game for the first time since 2015, while Rashford and Herrera scored. This result gave hope to Spurs who are chasing the Blues with 6 games left.

Europa League Q-final 2nd Leg
The Red Devils made heavy weather of the second leg at Old Trafford winning by an extra time goal from Rashford despite dominating again to make it into the semi-final on 3-2 aggregate. The negative points were serious knee injuries suffered by Ibrahimovic and Rojo. Their season seemed to be over esp Ibrahimovic.

Man Utd 2   Anderlecht  1

The Red Devils cruised to its 23rd match unbeaten with a 2-0 win at Turf Moor. They were dominating and need not do much so as to save it for Thursday derby against Man City who were
eliminated by Arsenal aet 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final. Wayne Rooney who started for the first time in months, scored the second goal

Burnley 0  Man Utd  2

It is stalemate at Etihad. David de Gea repelled everything that Guardiola's men threw at him. The fight for 4th place continues. Fellaini was dismissed in the last few minutes for 'headbutting' Aguero in the derby which City dominated. The Red Devils' unbeaten run is now at 24!!
